At my wedding (all those years ago - eek!), the pastor chose a passage from the Song of Solomon to read. You know, the bit about the young gazelle leaping over the mountains and bounding over the hills, running to his lover. He asked if we could picture me running and leaping over the hills - it raised a laugh back then when I was slimmer, fitter and, I guess, would raise even more of a laugh now. Getting beyond the laugh though, the Song is about two people who are passionately in love and consumed with each other... it's a picture of Jesus and the Church, a picture of Jesus running to our rescue, isn't it?

Read Song of Solomon Chapter 2 and then listen to this wonderful song by Martin Smith and Jesus Culture.
